a room?
Mary Katrantzou‘s surreal, three-dimensional Spring 2011 collection uses digital prints of images taken from Architectural Digest and World of Interiors to “put the room on the woman, rather than the woman in the room.” Makes you want to say “shut the front door!”
Or a garden?
Inspired by botanical plates collected in the eighteenth century, Carolina Herrera allows a girl to bloom in a modern yet feminine way. Her Spring 2011 collection is a garden full of flowers, no watering required!
We’re on the proverbial fence – would you wear one or the other or both?

Suddenly I am singing -“She’s a brick house” – Fun rooms, I mean dresses!
I love them both but that black ground botanical is stunning….
I will show these to my daughter!

I have black ground plates from Tiffany, reminds me of these dresses.

I THINK I would rather be in the room or garden when the girl in the dress walks in…
and I might say “bananas”! (might you watch a little Rachel Zoe??)

Love the CH black dresses…the rest might be a bit out there for me…as in, I could never ever pull that off..but they are really cool to look at, conceptually speaking!
I think I might wear the Carolina Herrera skirt outfit – her show was lovely! I thought of you when I saw the botanical outfits! And pve – I know those plates – I’ve always loved them – lucky you.
Garden for me.
They look very cool on the runway, I’m not sure I would want to wear either a room or a garden in real life though, lol! I do like the modernness of the room graphic prints though very much 🙂
I am having an interactive “Style Me Pretty” blog giveaway… I would love it if you joined!
Wow, I have never seen anything like these rooms, I mean dresses! I don’t think it’s my style, but I would probably love the individual who could wear one of these dresses and pull it off! She’d by my cup of tea! What a fun post.
Amazing how gorgeous, tall, thin models can pull off anything on the runway..they look stunning – just not sure about them in the real world –
If I did, I could pull off wearing a small hall closet, cuz that’s about all the surface area I’ve got! The botanicals are quite pretty and all of it is art that I can still appreciate and not have to wear 🙂 What fun!
I would so wear that first garden dress. Where? who knows but I would love it!
They all look gorgeous on the runway, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t wear them. They really are works of art though.
I have to say…they might be more than I my figure could handle….but really well done. Leave it to CH to push the ladylike limits a bit. I like her moxie!!! xo Elizabeth
I love it all! Absolutely Sublime!!
Garden, not for me to wear but for someone younger I love the last one. Hope you are well.
