We’ve been waiting all week for the decorating elves to show up and trim the tree (and hang the wreaths, and wrap the gifts, and plan the menus, and…) and they have yet to show their merry faces. So on to plan B – an afternoon at Terrain to pick up everything we need to make our homes festive and fabulous. Given that both of us are hitting the slopes the day after Christmas, our boys (young and old who really don’t have a vote since they aren’t much help) have decided a three foot tabletop tree would do just fine (whew!) And thankfully, Terrain has a number of styles to choose from, along with the most adorable, nature inspired ornaments and garlands. While we’ll miss unpacking and hanging the dozens of ornaments we’ve collected over the years, decorating a smaller tree will give us more time for everything else… We still hope those elves will show up, though!
Are you spending the weekend hanging ornaments and wreaths or just hanging around your peaceable kingdom?

Beautiful! I love shops that make it easy to get it all done, because those elves are just so unreliable. Mine seem to have gone on strike, too. A table top tree sounds just about right! More time to enjoy the people around you, which is how it should be.
Have fun decorating this weekend! XOXO
PS: My candles arrived while we were out to dinner last night. It was like Santa had delivered a present while we were gone. I’ve been thinking about giving one as a hostess gift, but really want to keep them all for myself!
Yep spending one more day finishing up my decor and then I will calling it a wrap..woo hoo! All of the ornaments are so charming, I need to get to that store one day!
Ahhhh…you definitely have the right idea…my house doesn’t have a single decoration out yet, but I hope to remedy that on Sunday. We escaped for an overnight to Chicago and are enjoying the magic of Christmastime in the city! I thought of you girls today when I saw one of your gorgeous bouquets at the Neiman Marcus on Michigan Avenue…it made me smile to know I have been blessed with your friendship this year. Have a beautiful weekend, ladies! xoxo
Carolyn and Cynthia-
When the elves have finished at your home, would you please send them this way?
I love Terrain, and your choices here are amazing.
Have a wonderful time skiing!
