Having spent the weekend “oohing and ahhing” over the pages of the latest Traditional Home (and not only because we’re in it – see page 76!), we had to post about the fabulous work of Laura Kirar for Arteriors Home. A graduate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Laura has designed collections for the likes of Baker, McGuire and Tufenkian. This latest endeavor allows her to create living art and organic forms from bronze, glass and ceramic, so that we can all “bring home the joyous quality of nature.”

Having our product featured in a national publication is always a thrill and we’re so excited to be able to add Traditional Home to the list. We were so excited to open our September 2009 issue of Traditional Home and spot our beautiful quince blossoms on page 51. In the article “Inspire Me!”, our client Barbara Barry shares her inspirations behind her well-dressed designs for the home. Barbara has chosen a couple of our classic designs to coordinate with her elegant furniture collection and to decorate her showrooms in High Point and Los Angeles. We are working on some custom pieces for Barbara so more to come…

We loved how interior designer Palmer Weiss used color and floral patterns to add fun and warmth to an old Victorian house in the pages of this month’s Traditional Home. By mixing contemporary elements such as steel bars stools in a stark white kitchen with more classic antiques and cheery prints in the adjoining family room, Palmer creates a living space that is timeless yet youthful and fresh. We also like the fact that as a mother of two, this decorator understands the need for a home to be as functional as it is beautiful!
