Local Gems Team Up For The Holidays

Quinto Welcomes You!

When you cross a super talented photographer (who’s a complete minimalist!) with an interior designer known for her whimsical yet modern style you get a storybook 1916 cottage decked out for the holidays…  and some lovely images in the pages of this month’s Connecticut Cottages & Gardens magazine.

Modern + Whimsy

Those of you who follow us on Instagram and read this blog know how much we admire Jane Beiles and her work, and we’ve featured her home here before.  We’re also huge fans of another local gem, Melissa Lindsay of Pimlico Interiors, so when the two teamed up to decorate for the holidays, we had to be in on the action!  [Yes, the pine branches in the picture above are ours but not the fresh greenery below…]

Gorgeous Greens

Wanting her home to feel festive but not scream holidays (no red and green tartan here!), Jane had local floral studio Birch Designs adorn the front door and staircase with fresh greens and create arrangements appropriate for the season.

Sugar + Spice

“Tis The Season for Amaryllis

Lindsey added frosted pine cones, illuminated birch trees and glittery reindeer to the mix to create a slightly Scandinavian feel, perfect for the clean, yet lighthearted interiors.  The result is fresh, peaceful and utterly charming.

Are you ready for the holidays?

Home Sweet Home

History With A Twist

At Home with Jane Beiles

“You can’t judge a book by its cover” our mother often told us when we were young…  and when we saw Jane Beiles’ home for the first time last winter, we couldn’t help but be reminded of this.  What seems like an antique 1916 home on the outside is definitely not traditional on the inside.  Small, closed off rooms were transformed into light-filled open spaces by architect Louise Brooks and RR Builders, and filled with chic but comfortable modern furnishings by Melissa Lindsay of Pimlico Interiors.  The house was the perfect mix of old meets new and we were instantly charmed.

Family Room

Entry and Dining Room

Kitchen and Mudroom

So it’s no surprise that we are super excited to see Jane’s wonderful home featured in the April issue of HGTV Magazine (and not only because our very own fiddle leaf fig tree makes an appearance on page 110!)  Jane’s sunny personality shines through in the bright and happy interiors captured by photographer Alexandra Rowley and from the moment you enter the front door, you can’t help but feel at home.

Master Bedroom

Back Porch

While every room is a delight, we fell hard for the back porch which was decked out with winter greens and Christmas lights when we visited; we can only imagine how sweet it would be to spend a summer’s eve entertaining friends there.  Perhaps Jane will indulge our fantasies by throwing another party this spring!
