Magnificent Magnolias
While we don’t tend to think too much about our own holiday decorating until right after Thanksgiving (that’s because we’re so busy with everyone else’s floral needs!), we did get into the holiday spirit early this year with an event at Nielsen’s Florist in Darien sponsored by our great friends at Connecticut Cottages & Gardens.

The James Girls Ringing in The Holidays
Along with Simon Pearce and Home James!, we created beautiful tables in the greenhouse for every setting, from glamorous to garden, city to country…

and proceeds from a fabulous raffle benefited A Better Chance, which provides academic scholarships and housing in Darien to six highly motivated minority high school girls from inner city areas.

Lovely Ladies from ABC
A great time was had by all, feasting on delicious tidbits and toasting with Nicolas Feuillate Brut Rose – and the beautifully styled Christmas trees added the perfect festive touch. None of this would have been possible without the amazing staff at Nielsen’s and the support of wonderful friends – what a stylish way to start the holidays!

Hi Carolyn – It was wonderful to meet you and your sister (and sue from the zhush). Such a fun evening! Nielsen’s did a great job and I just loved everything that Diane James featured (we’ll be talking about those beautiful white arrangements!). And by the way – what terrific pictures you took of the place settings – those were very hard to shoot!
Q – It was great to meet you, too! Between the two of us, we had the event covered with respect to pictures!
Carolyn,
I can see how lovely the event was! Love all those table settings highlighting the beautiful Diane James arrangements!
It’s the time of year when I find myself humming Jingle Bells in the car! Have a wonderful weekend!!

All of these tablescapes are so lovely and what an awesome event! xo
You ladies are so talented. I need you to come my way to get me ready for Thanksgvining and Christmas. I wish I could have made the event, but with too much on the schedule it just wasn’t in the cards this time. Love every single tabletop…and could find a reason to use them all!
Lisa – We missed you but can’t wait to see you next week! xxoo
Amazing! You can come into my home over the holidays and set my table too, lol!
Hope you have a fantastic weekend, dearest 🙂
WOW, so cool! I’ve always said I’m a city girl, but the country setting is making me think twice. I can only imagine the magic you create at your homestead 🙂 XOXO
Wow, these are absolutely stunning. I’m so impressed by all the tables, but if I could recreate ‘City’ at my place, I’d be thrilled!
So sorry that I could not be there. My sons and husband were at a black tie in the city and I was home chauffering one to religion. Looks like a wonderful event and I wish you all the best!
