It’s time to spruce up the terrace for summertime fun and there’s no better place to pick up some fashionable finds at a reasonable price than Zara Home. What started out as a casual browsing of the “Picnic” category for colorful melamine plates and acrylic glasses ended up as a jaw dropping exploration of La Grande Illusione, the company’s ephemeral installation for the 56th edition of The Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan.
This collaboration tapped the British set designer and art director Simon Costin to bring the brand closer to the world of design using the Spring/Summer 2017 collection as fashion accessories. Costume designer Spencer Horne fashioned the frocks while Thierry Boutemy took care of the flowers.
“Folktales and fairy stories have always been the bedrock that I work from,” states Costin in a video about his work and you can’t help but be enchanted by the photographs shot by Tim Walker that bring the magical creations to life.
Needless to say, while we loved the distraction, we still haven’t shopped for the terrace!
