As the curtain dropped on Mad Men Sunday night, we couldn’t help but feel a bit sad… But we’re also very grateful we had the chance to watch a show that will go down in history as being one of the most fashionable. From the swanky offices of SC&P to Don’s luxuriously hip New York pad, the interiors have never disappointed, nor have the fab fashions. We’ve been watching for seven years though it feels like a lot less and think parting gifts are in order for some of the show’s leading characters. [Spoiler alert!] And while Don would like to “buy the world a Coke” while meditating at a retreat, we’ll be buying these… A Marni dress for Peggy – while we applaud the advent of pant suits, we so love a fun frock.
A decanter for Don in hopes that he’ll cut down on the heavy stuff and turn to fine wines now that he’s found Nirvana…
A silk scarf for Joan – Hermes, of course. Have you ever noticed that in times of crisis, the women of Mad Men wear scarves (read all about it in this post!)
A twisted shot glass for Roger – need we say more?
A pair of “Zou Bisou Bisou” sandals for Megan to go with her insanely short skirts…
and a signet ring for Peter to remind him of his Upper East Side roots while settling down in Wichita.
Farewell Mad Men, and thanks for the memories!
P.S. If you’re a fan, what did you think of the series finale?

Love the dress you chose for Peggy! Loved the fashion on Mad Men and watched the first few seasons, but then it just got a little too depressing so I stopped. From what I read, though, the ending sounded satisfying. I wonder what the next big fashion TV show will be?
What a SPOT ON post…Peggy would rock that dress and without a doubt, Don became a wine expert in the 80’s. I will definitely be missing Mad Men!! Hope you both are having a delightful week! xoxo
Fun post! Mad Men had some ups and many downs….the fashion from each episode brought back many memories. I agree with Jeanne above that it was often a depressing show. People who actually worked in advertising comment that they had to put in solid time actually working and earning their paychecks continuously, while this never seemed to be the case with Don…..
