Design Dish… Lara Michelle

Masculine, Not Macho

Masculine, Not Macho

When we toured the Designer Showhouse of Westchester in 2009 (read about it here), we fell in love with a room that was designed for a teenage boy.  Given that we are mothers of boys, we were impressed by the how play of color and texture gave this room a masculine feel without being too macho.  We made sure to note the designer’s name: Lara Michelle.

Needless to say, when we met Lara at the showhouse this year, we loved how she can also design a distinctively female environment and her master sitting room did not disappoint!

I like these spaces a lot! They look like real homes with style, not over-stylized showpieces.

Great spaces! Especially primping with pink (I usually pimp pink in posts:)
I’m with her–as a kid, I preferred to draw and color over playing with dolls!!
