… to John Galliano for bringing back Christian Dior‘s iconic New Look in this his 15th year as Creative Director for the House of Dior. We say “Bravo!” to the graceful shawl-collared jackets and voluminous skirts, to the colorful layers of silk, tulle, flowers and feathers and the glossy red lips. Mr. Dior would’ve been so proud… What a way to kick off the Spring 2011 Couture shows!

Flowers and Feathers

P.S. Galliano was inspired by Rene Gruau‘s illustrations for Dior, now on exhibit at Somerset House in London. Don’t you just love fashionable art?

Takes me off to another world….thanks for the trip down the runway. All just gorgeous!
I do, especially this collection! Your description is perfect!! That last dress could be one saucy bridesmaid dress. Can you imagine the white extended version of that times 10?! Kisses from red lips XX, Kelly

Maybe that’s what we’ll wear today: Flowers and Feathers! Either that or cashmere and tweed.

I need a fancy event to go to so that I could talk myself into one of those magical gowns!
These are wonderful! Love everything about the looks – the hair and make-up is a perfect fit. The flowers and feathers probably matches the snow outside your window! Hope you’re cozy inside 🙂 xo Kelly
LOVED this collection! The way the feather swoosh above enhanced the curvy shapes below…swoon indeed!
I think my husband would love to be greeted at the end of a long hard day to me in a flowery frock!
