During our long weekend in the Hamptons several weeks ago, we took a break from the beach and ventured into Sag Harbor to see the 2016 Hamptons Design Showhouse sponsored by Traditional Home and benefiting Southampton Hospital. This 10,000 square foot newly built three story home is on the market for a mere $5.195 million but it does come with a pool, spa, tennis court, gym, wine cellar and lots of privacy since it sits on 3+ acres of overlooking a 135 acre wooded reserve.
Directly through the foyer is the great room designed by Kate Singer Home in a soothing seaside palette of blues, whites and grays. The hand painted de Gournay mural and the Michele Chandelier by Circa Lighting sets the tone for understated elegance.
Gideon Mendelson’s dining room is wallpapered with gray Phillip Jefferies grasscloth overlayed with white latticework and made all the more stunning with a fabulous ginko leaf chandelier similar to this Tommaso Barbi design we found on 1stdibs.
Statement chandeliers were definitely a trend in this year’s showhouse and Melanie Turner‘s geometric choice was perfect for this room which exuded sophisticated warmth.
We loved what the lovely ladies at Tilton Fenwick did with the master bath – the combination of their new Ikat Blossom wallpaper for Hygge & West with the salmon curtains was fresh and fun.
And finally, our favorite room… The girly and glamorous bunk room (which every vacation home should have!) designed by Julie Dodson had a wonderful mix of patterns. All in all, we thought this Hamptons Designer Showhouse was a big success and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Happy Friday!
