Finally… After a full day photo shoot at the Zhush’s beautiful home with styling by Ashlina from The Decorista (and Michelle behind the camera)…
and a couple of hours learning the ins and outs of Glossi (yes, even these old dogs can learn new tricks!) we have a Style Guide with pictures of our designs in settings and links to where to find them on Diane James Home. Despite the fact that we’re not art directors nor do we have lots of experience in graphic design, we think it came out pretty well!
We’re hoping the pictures will inspire our clients to combine our flowers with our decorative gifts, or to create new looks of their own. And now that we’ve got Glossi, we’ll be sure to publish more guides! To see our 2013 Style Guide, click here… And a big thank you to Sue, Ashlina and Michelle who helped us make it happen.

Styling a look book with the super talented team of Ashlina from The Decorista and photographer Michelle James on Monday was such fun and the fact that our friend, Sue, from The Zhush graciously lent us her gorgeous home was the icing on the cake.
We’ve been dying to do a look book with Ashlina and it’s been a year in the making. In preparation for the shoot, Ashlina had us pull our favorite vignettes for inspiration and create coordinated looks to fit the settings.
Once we unloaded two car loads of flowers and botanically inspired gifts, Ashlina went to work creating vignettes all over the house. From the powder room, to the bar, to the front hall table and the living room coffee table, she created looks that brought our designs to life.
Watching Ashlina work was a real treat and she shared so much about her creative process… Ever mindful of color and pattern, she likes to use odd numbers in her settings and loves putting unexpected objects in her shots.
We even overheard Ashlina discuss with Michelle the type of girl who would live in the environments she created – the blue powder room shot was definitely a single girl in the city while the pink powder room shot belonged to a married lady in the country.
After a busy day of primping and posing, we called it a wrap in Sue’s beautiful garden with the sun shining and bees buzzing in the bushes… All in all, a very productive and wonderful day!

Everyone Could Use a Little Zhush
Domestic Bliss
… to The Zhush and The Decorista for including our flowers in some lovely lifestyle shots for Sue’s online store, zhush. Soon to come is her “lookbook” feature which will show you how to use her fabulously fun accessories to “zhush” up your own home. Once you see how Sue pairs Jonathan Adler coasters with Kim Seybert‘s beaded burst napkin rings or Rab Lab‘s agate coasters with a Two’s Company python tray, you’ll want one or more of everything!
