A Bright New Home for Philip Gorrivan

Welcome Home!

Philip Gorrivan is a master at mixing the traditional with the modern, the classic with the unexpected.  His projects strive to create a unique, authentic narrative, whether he’s designing a new fabric collection for Duralee or overhauling a 1920’s colonial in Washington, CT.  His stylish aesthetic can also be seen in his newly designed website which is simply gorgeous!  To celebrate his new online home, we wanted to revisit one of our favorite PGD projects which we saw in the pages of House Beautiful in 2015.  From the moment you enter the house, you get a sense that this is not your run of the mill antique.  David Hick’s Vase wallpaper sets the tone in the front hall while the gallery wall over a colorful sofa displays an eclectic taste for art.

Artful Display

And what better a place to curl up with a good book…  we wouldn’t need our readers with all that natural light!

Cozy Corner

Inspired by a collection of Swedish furniture, Philip had the dining room wallpapered from top to bottom with Chiavi Segrete by Piero Fornasetti and stuck to a cream colored palette.

Dreamy Dining

The clean white kitchen is fabulous and that light fixture adds the perfect touch of contemporary chic.

Clean and Chic

While all the bedrooms in this home are lovely, we adored the one designed for the clients’ son and couldn’t imagine any of our boys keeping their rooms in such impeccable order (especially our college first years who can’t seem to keep their laundry off the floor!)

“Man Cave”

With easy navigation and a full catalog of all current product lines, you could spend hours browsing Philip’s new site.  Best of all, he’ll soon be introducing a “market” section linked to eBay which will offer special vintage and hard to find pieces so you, too, have a bit of PGD in your life.
