If you live in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and love to shop, chances are you’ve spent time at Susan Arnold & Co. Though French Country in spirit, Susan’s store is filled with imaginative furnishings and accessories to help her customers make their home unmistakeably their own. So with summer almost over, we wanted to write one last sensational summer post highlighting Susan’s stylish picks for entertaining and gift-giving.
“This Molton Brown hand wash has a fresh scent and is very mild but cleans well and not at all harsh for sensitive skin.
An Artifacts Trading rectangular tray with handles is great for formal or informal settings or just to use in bathrooms or kitchens to display items often used.
I’m not really a candle person but I love this one’s lovely, light, relaxing scent.
Fresh flower bouquets are a wonderful way to thank your hostess and any type will do, especially pale green hydrangeas mixed with whites.
To leave a lasting impression, a Diane James Rose Posy is wonderful – everyone loves this and is absolutely thrilled to have one.”
Thank you, Susan, for your wonderful suggestions and including us in this chic collection!
For those of you who are spending some time at the Ocean House in Watch Hill, RI, this summer and need a little time away from all the luxuries the hotel has to offer, just down the road and next to the best coffee in town (brewed hourly by Betsy at Watch Hill Coffee Company) is Ocean House Home.
Housed in what was once an antique brick firehouse, Ocean House Home is now the new shopping destination for locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re looking for a perfect hostess gift, have to have the latest in swimwear or just need to spruce up your home or wardrobe, this is the place!
If tearing yourself away from the serene and elegant atmosphere of the Ocean House hotel is too much trouble – you’re in luck! Ocean House Home also has a boutique in the lobby. So get your credit cards out, girls, and let’s go shopping!

On warm spring days (but not too warm that AC is a must – we had some of those days in April!), we turn on our attic fan and let the evening breeze gently cool down the house. The Miss Kim lilacs are in bloom just under our bedroom window and on those nights when the fan is on, their delicious, sweet scent fills the room.
Everywhere we turn, the lilacs are in bloom, their purple hue adding depth and richness to our landscapes and our lives. If decorating your home with armfuls of blossoming branches is not in your future, how about one of these lilac-colored lovelies?
Wishing you a lilac-filled Friday!
With all the azaleas and peonies blooming in our gardens this week, we can’t help but feeling “in the pink”. From raspberry to fuchsia, cerise to salmon, pink can be whimsical and charming or vivacious and vibrant. While we think of pink as the color of spring, these pretty accents are our favorites year-around.
