Mix this…
with this…
and get this!
P.S. We’re off to Atlanta to shop for the next collection so we’ll see you in a week!
Technically, spring starts today at 6:45 pm on the East Coast and yes, it’s snowing again! But that won’t stop us from doing a Friday Fashion and Favorite mash-up and celebrate the spring flowers to come. Kate Spade makes it easy to stop and smell the blossoms… and wear them, too (no wonder since Kate’s last name is Spade!) The Spring 2015 collection is filled with pretty, floral things from purses and clutches,
to fun frocks,
and accessories with bountiful blooms.
So, happy first day of Spring and here’s to springing forward in our gardens soon!

Have you ever experienced what we like to call “analysis paralysis”? Here’s the scenario: Over the years, you’ve gathered all your favorite pictures for a home renovation, your binder, folders and Pinterest boards are brimming with ideas, but when the time comes to finally design your dream bath, kitchen, etc., you can’t make a decision or you second guess the decisions you’ve made!
We’re not the kind of girls to wing home décor so we do spend an awful lot of time (perhaps too much?) thinking about our projects before jumping in.
Ever since we hired a contractor, he’s been cracking the whip and we’ve had to make quick decisions on the fly – tile, molding, carpet, and paint colors and now, hardware! Needless to say, we’d rather be shopping for hardware of a different kind to wear this spring…
Have you ever renovated your home and felt the same way? Can you wing the bling or do you get analysis paralysis?

Before Pantone could announce that Emerald had indeed been chosen as the 2013 Color of the Year, there were whispers that Monaco Blue was about to steal the show. Perhaps because this color, which “falls between bright cobalt and sapphire blue but with a shot of sparkle,” topped the list of Pantone’s Spring Fashion Color Trends and we saw so much of it down the runway last fall. Blogs were abuzz about the proposed choice – some loved the regal nature of the color and its versatility (especially after a year of Tangerine Tango) while others found the choice quite boring.
Then December 6th came and went, and we all celebrated the lively, radiant, lush color that is Emerald… “A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony,” according to Pantone and the blogs were abuzz again.
It would make sense that the world-renown authority on color would follow a year filled with energetic orange with a color that symbolizes new life in many cultures. Given it’s natural hue, we love this choice. But then again, we love blue hues, too, so we’ll be adding a bit of both to our lives this year.
How about you – will you be true blue or going green this year?

We have a confession to make… When we posted pictures of Wendy Valierre’s beautiful Vermont home last Friday, we left out one of our favorites so that we could post it today. Amidst all the spring blossoms we’re beginning to see, there’s still something so chic and elegant about black flowers. Whether fashioned in fabric, forged in metal or molded in plastic, these black beauties are ba-na-nas!
