We think one of the best ways to connect with our teenage sons is to listen to their music and we have to admit, we love dubstep and house (are you surprised?) And with long car rides to the slopes ahead of us, it’s a good thing we do as the boys insist on playing DJ to pass the time. One group topping our charts these days is Swedish House Mafia – nothing gets us more pumped up during our morning workouts than these guys. Sadly, this band of talented DJ’s is breaking up and while we did score some tickets to their last NY concert, we’ll be bummed to see them part ways. Fortunately, house bands aren’t the only Swedish exports we love… Besides lingonberry jam, gravlax and glogg (mulled wine), stylist Jimmy Schonning and the magazines Elle Interior and Skona Hem help us get into a Nordic mood!

I can relate to “connecting” to teen aged sons through music….do the same but have to draw the line at some of it, LOL.
Swedish interiors are so soothing and serene, a beautiful timeless aesthetic. enjoy your day!!
The music choices of my boys is beginning to evolve. Funny enough, Grant is the one in the family who is into Swedish House Mafia…buying a cd for our last ski trip drive.
I do love the simplicity and calm found in Swedish design. And, with all these recent gray skies, I could use some Swedish design.
Have a great day….I’ll bet you’ve already got that workout done. Jealous! 🙂

All new to me!! Can’t wait to check it all out – from music to magazines!
I love the simple, rustic elegance of Swedish decor. Those flowers are so pretty! So funny about staying in the loop with regards to hip music. Been there! it’s so important to show interest in the things our kids enjoy:)
You are too funny – I can tell my daughters is grown since I’m going to have to go to itunes to hear some of their music. Love the images!
