Rethinking Raffia

When we saw these great Stuart Weitzman shoes, we decided to rethink raffia…  Not only is it the material we use to secure the moss around our orchid stems when we tie them to bamboo stakes (a little detail which really does make our orchids look real), raffia’s played a role in fashion and home decor for centuries.

Raffia comes from the underside of raffia palm fronds and the long fibers can be dyed and woven into textiles or kept natural and used as string.  In celebration of Earth Day this week, we thought we’d round up some of our favorite raffia finds for you.  We especially love this Tory Burch satchel with raffia sides…

and of course, anything raffia covered from Oomph!

you could always opt for a playsuit with a raffia print.

Now, back to tying up some orchids!  Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend.

Ladies, I love, love, love the attention to detail you bring to your creations. All those little things matter so much. A little raffia, whether it’s tying orchids or on a gorgeous handbag, is a wonderful thing.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend! XOXO

Happy Friday ladies:) LOVE all of these images. I have some raffia wedges that are almost identical to the ones at the top (they might be SW.. I have them put away until the weather warms) You can dress them up or down and I think the wedge is easy to walk in. Great hand bag!

    Enjoy your weekend.
