Quatrefoil Follies

While we’re on the subject of leaves, it seems that we’re seeing quatrefoils everywhere these days (quatrefoil meaning “four leaves”.)  Perhaps it’s because we’re currently engrossed in the TV mini-series of Ken Follett’s book “Pillars of the Earth” about the building of a Gothic cathedral in England…

More likely, it’s all the great furniture and home decor that uses this shape to symbolize harmony, symmetry and proportion…

I was born on st.patrick’s day and I love that it reminds me of a “four” leaf lucky clover!

There is a faux version of the Reese quatrefoil necklace. My daughter has one, and we love it. The real deal has a crazy price tag, and for that amount of $$$ you could have big rocks, a fabulous painting, valuable antiques, a family cruise through the Greek Islands!
