While we’re on the subject of leaves, it seems that we’re seeing quatrefoils everywhere these days (quatrefoil meaning “four leaves”.) Perhaps it’s because we’re currently engrossed in the TV mini-series of Ken Follett’s book “Pillars of the Earth” about the building of a Gothic cathedral in England…

or all the photos we see of Reece Witherspoon wearing her favorite Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra necklace…

More likely, it’s all the great furniture and home decor that uses this shape to symbolize harmony, symmetry and proportion…

Oomph - Tini Tables

Wonder if any of these pieces are lucky?

I was born on st.patrick’s day and I love that it reminds me of a “four” leaf lucky clover!
Great quatrefoil collection!
PVE – I think it’s very lucky to have your birthday on St. Patrick’s Day and everyone can buy you drinks!
Wonderful inspiration! Have a great weekend 🙂

This is a pattern I haven’t really been conscious of before. But I love those little tables!
Adore this shape, on buildings, jewelry and in the home! Great post!
I adore this shape —– so fun to see it created in so many fun ways!
There is a faux version of the Reese quatrefoil necklace. My daughter has one, and we love it. The real deal has a crazy price tag, and for that amount of $$$ you could have big rocks, a fabulous painting, valuable antiques, a family cruise through the Greek Islands!
love everything about this post.
