The weekend’s finally here and that means it’s pumpkin decorating time! But there’s an ongoing debate as to whether we’re going to carve them this year or do something creative with glue, paint and glitter.
If we had our way, we’d keep it simple – carve them out and use them as a vase for flowers, or use paint pens (much neater than paint brushes!) and go wild.
Regardless, we’ll be inspired by all the pretty pumpkins that are being pinned these days…
How about you, are you a traditional carver or do you do your own thing?

I really happen to love a classic Jack-O-Lantern….a memorable one was when our son tried to carve it with his swiss army knife….y’ep we ended up in the ER – lucky he did not loose his finger. I always associate Halloween with spooky stuff happening like that or costume drama which is what we now have with a 13 year old.
Now those painted pumpkins, no one would get hurt.
I love those too.

Wow – some amazing examples of creative carving! I think our pumpkins may be unadorned in their pristine purity this year! So great to see you as always!!
Your title cracked me up!!!
Because we have young boys….we seem to be carvers. But, I’m loving the chevron striped pumpkins I’ve seen on pinterest! And, I did get out my gold spray paint for mini pumpkins for my dining room table. So, I guess I’m a little bit of both!
Have fun with your pumpkins!

Have fun pump(kin)ing it up! Some gorgeous examples – will you post what you end up doing? I keep things simple and leave the pumpkins untouched – partly because I like them that way, and partly because I never seem to have time to actually carve them up! I am totally smitten with the little guys in the first photo. We’re having a dinner party tonight and I would love to create little pumpkin vases for our table. Maybe next year! Enjoy the weekend!! XO
I can’t get over all of the fancy pumpkins this year. There are some very talented people out there in Hallowland!
You have a great time with your pumpkins this weekend.
Happy Friday.

A few of these pumpkins I had not seen before, is that one painted with puffy paint? So neat.
