Yup… That sums up our day at the mall last week when we went shopping for updates to our fall wardrobe. If we were a couple of decades years younger, we’d be all over the bohemian biker / floral grunge trend we saw at Zara. But then again, as mothers of teenage sons, we certainly wouldn’t want to dress like their girlfriends (if we ever want to appear in public with them!)
In any event, we had fun trying on some pretty things with tough touches like studs, rivets and spikes…
And are thinking about adding some horn and nailheads to our homes, instead!
Are you finding this year’s fall fashions fun or funky?

Funky a little too trendy for my taste but always fun to watch them play out in “real life”. On some (under 25) they normally look fantastic but i am sorry seeing a 50 year old in biker boots and a stud necklace just doesn’t’ get my vote lol. I like the “tamer” interpretations for someone “my age” 🙂
And I totally hear you on teenage boys and their approval. They are very quick to let me know when they don’t like something!!!!!
It’s seeing the grunge trend come back again that makes me feel sooo old. My theory is that if you wore it the first time, so shouldn’t do it the second time. I have yet to do any fall shopping at all – I probably need to get to it before spring clothes start showing up on the racks! Happy Wednesday! XO
I’ve barely done any shopping, though I did pick up a few new tops last week. I cannot on any level pull off grunge. It wasn’t a great look for me the first time, but I was young and thin enough that I could if I wanted to. But not now. No can do!
We have lots of the grunge trend here in Seattle.. I don’t mind a little bit but some of the younger crowd gets carried away. There are plenty of options for mature women to keep their wardrobe up to date. I think women can add a touch of trend and still keep it classy;)
I’m not sure anyone into the look would even want little flowers on their boots…but at least it adds a little girly to the look! Maybe its for those who want a little grunge but not to much!
I think you two would definitely rock that Lost Innocence Choker! 😉

I LOVE the bowl!! And yes, the clothes are fun, but like you, my daughter wouldn’t be seen with me. Aww… to be young again.

I would add that teenage girls would probably have a lot to say about that outfit too – mine would have died!! Hope you two are having a great week and happy shopping!!
