How Flowers Finished a Room

A couple of weeks ago we received a panicked phone call from K.C. Williams at Connecticut Cottages & Gardens regarding the Designer Showhouse of Westchester (a magnificent 20-room Georgian mansion on the market for $15 million replete with infinity pool, wine cellar and movie theater) benefiting Cerebral Palsy of Westchester.

It seems that the designer for the center hall did not complete the project in time for the gala opening that night and there was nothing to fill an enormous space.  Fortunately, the organizers were able to get a 96″ table and a lovely sideboard delivered by Safavieh (who designed the lower level bar room) but needed accessories to finish the room.  Given that 96″ is a very large center hall table to accessorize, we offered to lend ten of our bestselling designs.  We immediately thought of a composition inspired by Jeff Leatham‘s displays at the George V in Paris (check out his new show, Flowers Uncut, starting November 3rd on TLC).  K.C. picked up quince and hydrangea bouquets that afternoon and the opening gala went off without a hitch.  After seeing our designs in the showhouse last week, we really do believe that flowers finish a room and we hope you do, too!

The showhouse is open through November 8 and we highly recommend the visit  – the rooms are beautifully decorated by 30 of the area’s best known designers and artists.  Visit CP of Westchester for more information.
