Heavenly Hydrangeas

Hydrangeas on the Cape

Hydrangeas on the Cape

Summer’s underway and we’re all looking forward to a bit of beach fun on the Cape at the end of the month.  One of our favorite things to do once we get there is stroll the lively and colorful (some are beyond colorful!) streets of Provincetown.  Naturally, our eyes gravitate toward the charming cottages and B&B’s which line the lanes, bordered by climbing roses and the most heavenly of summer flowers – hydrangeas.

Sadly, hydrangea blossoms once cut from the bush rarely last beyond a day (unless they’re a Diane James design, of course!) so perhaps these beauties would be better as accessories than the real thing…

Thank-you for sharing my hydrangea, I am working on another one now…and I have some that were cut from the garden of “pretty pink tulips” that are literally larger than my head!
I always think they look like cotton candy, these endless summer hydrangeas!

I’ve never been a huge fan of hydrangeas in the flesh, but as accessories (or shoes!) I really love what you found.

Love hydrangeas… specially the white/green ones. I am looking for them right now to fill a flowerbed surrounding the courtyard by the front door. Great line up!

Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! I am almost to point of being obsessed with hydrangeas. I have Annabelle hydrangeas planted around my entire patio. They are georgeous this year. I have several ironstone vases full of them all over my house.

I had to visit your hydrangea post one more time. My bountiful crop has cooked with the summer long heat wave in N.C. Thanks for your sweet visits. We love company!
