“Giving Back” to School

With school starting next week for many of us in the Northeast, the inevitable “back to school” shopping is taking place this week.  Armed with a list a mile long, throngs of moms (and perhaps some dads) will flock the stores to buy school supplies.

But why do kids get to have all the fun?  This year, we’ll be investing in some journals and notebooks, too, and helping children in developing countries along the way… through ecojot‘s “buy 1, give 1” program.

For every 5″ x 7″ journal, jumbo journal or sketchbook sold, ecojot will donate a school workbook or pencil to a child in need.  To date, the company has donated 70,000 notebooks to countries all over the world including Haiti, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Poland and Zimbabwe.
