Oh, yes we are, and standing 42 minutes on the corner of 33rd and M Streets last week was no big deal – especially when we walked away with these beauties from Georgetown Cupcake. So worth the wait!
A quick trip to DC last week had us seeing the sights, which of course included a stop at this now famous cupcakery – the first of its kind in our nation’s capital when it was founded in 2008. Since then, Katherine and Sophie (sisters with a passion for the artful cupcake) have published a book of recipes, appeared on national TV (alongside Oprah and Martha Stewart!) and launched their own series on TLC!
These sweet treats are as delicious as they appear, given their natural ingredients…
and beautiful packaging. No need for a special occasion to indulge in one of these!
Thank goodness the company had the foresight to open a store in Soho so we don’t have to travel too far to satisfy our urge… then again, we can order online from their website and save ourselves the wait!
P.S. For another sweet treat, don’t forget to enter our giveaway of an autographed copy of Phoebe Howard’s first book, The Joy of Decorating! Click here for more information…

I am not so much of a cupcake girl but totally LOVE the concept, adorable designs and packaging and knowing that you can order online. Would be a great little pick me up for those away at school for birthdays or a little something to get through exams!!
Lucky you!!! I knew we just didn’t have time to make it over to Georgetown Cupcakes, but have followed these two baking beauties since they began.
Love that you got to revisit your old stomping ground! I’m sure the boys loved it all!

I have been wanting one of these cupcakes forever. I have several friends that live in or near Washington DC, and they rave about these little delicacies!
Lucky you!
Happy Wednesday.

YUM! We waited on the same crazy line last year…those salted caramels one, sigh.
I still haven’t tried these, but I did buy their cookbook. I can’t wait to try some. I didn’t realize they opened one in soho though. I think we’ll have to make a trip!
I can’t get enough of cupcakes – they are adorable and sinful but totally worth it! 🙂
You had me at “salted caramel” Those look incredible…
Lucky I live far away is all I can think! xv
If I lived close by…I would be in that line every day. Lucky for me I do not, already having a problem with my Spring wardrobe. Sigh……
