Darien designer Beth duPont knows a thing or two about collecting and what better time to display boxes of vintage garlands, ornaments and even brush trees than the holidays. Starting with the biggest tree she can fit in her Victorian home, Beth decorates every room from wall to wall and from ceiling to floor. Even her mirrors, art and statues get a festive touch!
Beth’s passion for the holidays was passed down to her by her mother who, as a visual merchandiser for department stores, “could make chocolates on a porcelain plate look beautiful.” Our mother also has the Christmas decorating gene but sadly she didn’t pass it on to us… Needless to say, we have a hard enough time tying a ribbon on a wreath or topping a tree with a star.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate festive decking of the halls when we see it and Beth’s home does not disappoint. Doesn’t this make you want to sing falalalala?
