Now that Memorial Day is behind us, summer has unofficially begun and so have our Friday Fun days. That means we’ll be leaving the office early (or not even showing up at all!) to explore local, and not so local, finds. On our list this year is the newly-renovated Castle Hill Inn in Newport, Rhode Island which is once again open to the public. DiLeonardo, an award-winning design firm based in Providence, took on the massive remodeling project which included not only the oceanfront beach cottages and the Turret Suite, but also the addition of beautiful outdoor relaxation areas near The Retreat by Farmaesthetics, the Inn’s luxurious wellness sanctuary.
From Grace Kelly to Thorton Wilder and many more, the Castle Hill Inn has captured the imagination of guests from near and far with its authentic Newport vibe, enchanting setting and panoramic views. Commissioned in 1874 by marine biologist and naturalist Alexander Agassiz of Harvard University, this beautiful mansion has stood the test of time and carries on its storied legacy while ever elevating its guest experience.
We can’t wait to see the beach cottages with their charming, light-filled rooms (not to mention the whirlpool tub and heated floor in the bathrooms!) and the mansion’s bi-level Turret Suite with its gorgeous wood paneling, spiral staircase and 360-degree views of Narragansett Bay and Atlantic Ocean.
And we think there’s no better place to truly connect with Mother Nature and all of the beauty and serenity she has to offer. Don’t you agree?
