Leif – Jungle Leaf Pillow
despite what Kermit says! It’s hard to believe that we’ve been writing this little blog of ours for seven years and it’s just a coincidence that we launched it right around St. Patrick’s Day with a post titled The Color Green (we know… how original!) So in honor of this anniversary and Gaelic fête, we’re celebrating with a bit of green today.

No matter what shade – apple, spring, emerald, pine, shamrock – green brings the freshness of the great outdoors into any room.

This time of year, a touch of green on a table or on a wall can really help chase away the Ides of March.
Herend – Yoga Frog
Even this little yoga frog knows that green is “om” for your home!
Wishing you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day… May your troubles be less and your blessings more, and nothing but happiness come through the door.

Our dad used to sing us this song when we were little girls and now that the sun is finally shining, we’re hoping the warmer days are here to stay!

Elie Saab’s Blue Blossoms
Before Pantone could announce that Emerald had indeed been chosen as the 2013 Color of the Year, there were whispers that Monaco Blue was about to steal the show. Perhaps because this color, which “falls between bright cobalt and sapphire blue but with a shot of sparkle,” topped the list of Pantone’s Spring Fashion Color Trends and we saw so much of it down the runway last fall. Blogs were abuzz about the proposed choice – some loved the regal nature of the color and its versatility (especially after a year of Tangerine Tango) while others found the choice quite boring.
Then December 6th came and went, and we all celebrated the lively, radiant, lush color that is Emerald… “A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony,” according to Pantone and the blogs were abuzz again.
Valentino’s Emerald Elegance
It would make sense that the world-renown authority on color would follow a year filled with energetic orange with a color that symbolizes new life in many cultures. Given it’s natural hue, we love this choice. But then again, we love blue hues, too, so we’ll be adding a bit of both to our lives this year.

Now that Sandy has passed and the 9″ of snow has melted, we can finally turn our attention to the holidays and with Thanksgiving just a week away, it’s none too soon! Given that this holiday really centers around food and therefore, the table, we like to go all out… Thankfully, we’ve got the flowers covered and we’re thinking of a plum and silver theme to coordinate with our Wine Country Bouquet.

Gideon Does Green
The Buzz turns three this month and who knew when we launched this blog that we would be so ahead of the trend by expressing our love for the color green in our very first post (despite our black thumbs!)
It seems that everywhere we turn, people are talking about this springtime color. From House Beautiful‘s entire March issue, to the cover of Veranda‘s new book and all through Wisteria’s spring catalog, green is getting lots of love! Sorry, Kermit, despite what you think, it’s easy being green…
