A Country Chic Christmas

If “necessity is the mother of invention” then we think “procrastination is the sister of creativity.”  After surfing the internet and browsing magazines, we finally came up with our holiday theme, thanks to a lovely wreath we saw in Livingetc‘s December issue via the blog Bright Bazaar.  When we read that this wreath graced the door of an “utterly charming” farmhouse in Suffolk, England we were sold.

With the help from Nielsen’s in Darien (the original pine, eucalyptus and bay leaf base was made by Jo Malone in London) and decorations and ribbon from Target, we did our best to replicate the laid-back country elegance that filled the home with such a cozy feeling.  We decked the doors (all three!)…

Q – it’s a music box that lights up with Santa flying over the village (over dancing skaters!) and plays eight different carols. It’s very kitschy but the boys love it! Hope to see you tonight.

Oh wow, your decor looks fantastic!!!!! Love it. And am a bit in love with your drapes as well! We are no where near done with our gift shopping and I am approaching panic territory quickly! T minus two days until my parents arrive, so actually panic has already begun.

Great job on the replicas! And I completely agree that “procrastination is the sister of creativity”…. I always stumble upon the best ideas when I’m surfing the web.

Absolutely adore your wreath…it is perfection! All of your holiday decor is lovely and your tree looks like it has many stories behind the ornaments (my favorite kind of tree.) I’m also loving the landscape outside your window! I think I love where you live!

Those embellished wreaths are very effective. I can’t decide if I like your pink one or green one better 🙂

That pink is HOT! Thank goodness, I think we all need a shot of warmth 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration to re-create some of the magic that amazing people pump out even in the craziest of times! Love me some Moravians too, and since my favorite # is 3, that little piggy table was super great as well. All so very, very lovely and festive! I know right….the cards!! I think I need to change mine to Happy New Year cards so they will still be on time 😉 XOXO, Kelly
