An Elm Grows in New Canaan

Elm’s Chef Brian Lewis

When the likes of Jay Fielding (Town & Country Editor in Chief), mentions Elm, a local favorite, in the same breath as El Bulli, a Michelin 3-star restaurant on the Spanish Costa Brava (now sadly closed), you know it’s time to make a reservation… and fast!  While El Bulli’s chef, Ferran Adria, was known to cook the most “imaginative haute cuisine on the planet” and put molecular gastronomy on the map, Elm’s Brian Lewis is a bit more traditional in his approach.

Colorful Salad

With a vast network of farmers and artisans, Brian has the freedom to compose seasonal daily menus, and his highly personal and creative American style shines through in every dish.

A Visit to Plum Plums

While we would opt for dining in the charming restaurant, Brian does offer customized tasting menus and cooking classes in the kitchen.

And for those of you who don’t live in the area, a visit to Elm’s website which includes sample menus and a gallery of pictures will have your mouth watering…  We’re off to reserve now before it’s too late!

I’ve been DYING to go!! Can’t wait til they are open for lunch in the fall!!

  2. I love the presentation of that salad! I haven’t seen that before and I love it…beautiful, unique, but still easy to eat which isn’t always the case. Looks like it would be an incredible experience…somewhere to go if/when I ever get out your way??!!! :) Have a great weekend ladies!

  3. Looks delicious! I want to dive fork first into that plate of pasta. There’s nothing better than well-prepared farm-fresh food. Elm looks like a winner – hope you get a table soon. Have a happy weekend! XOXO

  4. Carolyn and Cynthia-
This looks too fabulous for words. Beets, other vegetables, citrus, herbs, and greens is a step above. How wonderful it would be to live nearby. I would love to take a cooking class. Headed to their site.
    Have a great weekend.
