Turning Over A New Leaf

Who knew that when Turning Leaf launched their campaign “Discover the taste, the color”, they meant it literally.  The company’s “Designers In Residence” this year happen to be two of the most exciting new fashion designers walking the catwalk these days – Bruno Basso (a Brazilian) and Christopher Brooke (a Brit).

Since 2003 when the stylish pair met in a London nightclub (where they acquired a taste for wine?), Basso & Brooke have created collection after collection of eye-popping, form flattering styles influenced by their travels and created with wild graphics that are digitally printed onto their fabrics.

The duo’s latest collaboration (they’ve worked with Harrods, Converse, Swarovski and L’Oreal) took them to Turning Leaf’s vineyards in Sonoma where they learned more about the wine and were inspired by the delicate and complex art of winemaking.

While some might think that wine and fashion don’t have much in common, Basso and Brooke would disagree: Both wine and fashion can play a role in someone’s lifestyle, people care passionately about them (we know we do!) and both bring joy and delight to the consumer.

Needless to say, the outcome is a fabulous collection of colorful and quirky home accessories sold exclusively at the super hip store in London, The Shop at Bluebird on King’s Road.  From a classic French bergere to digitally printed wine tables and lampshades, the pieces are fun and functional.

We definitely recommend the picnic (or “dining”) kit which includes a printed silk quilt and cushions inside a lacquered case and a couple bottles of Turning Leaf Chardonnay for your next fall tailgate – wouldn’t you want to cheer on your favorite team in style?

My dream would be to design a label for champagne or any sort of wine!
I think the ladies of Diane James home need a bottle of bubbly or something with a “floral” bouquet!
    Can you see it now?
