Frank and Margaret Holfland’s showroom is one of our first stops in Atlanta (they serve Starbucks coffee and homemade cookies!) and the displays (including real tropical treasures) never disappoint. … to interior designer Yvonne Blacker for including a charming picture of her “Favorite Space” vignette at the North Shore Design Show in her online magazine, New England Finery. The show featured many local designers and supported a worthy cause, the Wenham Museum. We loved Yvonne’s whole look, including the pops of orange and being paired with our friends at Dunes & Duchess!

We’re back from a couple of days of shopping at the Atlanta Gift Show and while we tweeted as we went, we did save some fabulous finds for this post.

Buying stems and vases for our next collection usually takes up much of our time but we did save a day to browse the home decor showrooms and temps now that we’ve added a gift selection to our website.

So you thought you were going to get an Atlanta Gift Show recap! While there are many marvelous showrooms at the AmericasMart, you won’t find the rare, vintage and coveted treasures displayed in Fiona Druckenmiller’s store, which opened to great acclaim last fall on Madison Avenue.

FD Gallery is the kind of place that leaves you breathless upon entering. And it’s not just the intimate setting (Fiona was inspired by boutiques in Paris and Milan) that will have you coming back again and again. This world traveller and collector changes the cases every month to reflect a carefully curated them.

One month Fiona will feature objects inspired by Egyptian Revival and the next, she showcases the whimsical work of artist Patrick Mavros, whose silver sculptures bring to life the animals of the savannah. We love the fact that you never know what you may discover when you stop by this store - truly a neighborhood “gem”.

… to Philip Treacy for designing the most creative haute couture hats that walked down the runway last week. These whimsical wonders inspired by origami swirls and ikebana flower arrangements struck the perfect balance to Giorgio Armani’s “Hommage au Japon” sleek silk and velvet styles. We say “hats off” to both designers for a simply stunning collection!

The best part about traveling for work is having three uninterrupted hours on the plane to catch up on our reading. Along with the usual suspects, we’re packing the Summer 2011 issue of flower magazine.

Being the flower girls that we are, this Alabama-based magazine is a seasonal must-read. From pretty pictures of floral compositions, tablescapes and gardens, to articles about interior and product designers (like William Yeoward and Suzanne Rheinstein), flower is filled with floral fun to please all types. And with a mission of “enriching life through flowers,” what’s not to love?
